Discover Financial Services launched a
virtual credit card called Discover Desk$hop that offers Discover Card users
one-click access to online accounts, a drag-and-drop app for shopping on the
Internet and real-time available credit balance information.

Secure electronic payment infrastructure solutions company Trintech is powering Desk$hop’s form
filling function with its PayGate NetIssuer virtual credit card solution.

By simply dragging and dropping the virtual card to an online merchant’s
check out page, the time consuming form filling of payment pages is removed,
Discover said.

Desk$hop, being offered free to customers with Discover cards, supports the
Electronic Commerce Modeling Language (ECML) standard and is protected with
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption as well as the use of PIN numbers., the
company said.

“For the first time, consumers have a single tool to facilitate both online
purchasing and
account management functions,” said Colleen Zambole, vice president for
electronic commerce, at Discover Financial Services.

Discover Financial Services, a unit of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co.,
operates the Discover Card brands with more than 48 million card holders and
a network of more than 3.5 million merchant and cash access locations in the
United States.
