Bethesda, MD-based Emaginet said it has changed the name of the company to
e-centives Inc., the better to align
with its popular Internet-based promotional offering.

e-centives is an online promotions system that offers a suite of promotional
tools for e-commerce combined with an Internet-wide distribution network
designed to acquire and retain customers. It operates a Personalized Savings
Network that delivers digital coupons and offers to consumers from brand name
partner stores

“The e-centives personalized promotions system has been so widely embraced by
both consumers and retailers that it made sense to capitalize on e-centives’
strong brand recognition,” said Kamran Amjadi, co-founder and CEO of
e-centives. “Quite simply, we think the new name more accurately reflects
what we do.”

e-centives was formed in August 1996 to develop e-commerce promotion
technologies that bring merchants and consumers together. e-centives has
established relationships with merchants such as barnesandnoble.com , Music
Boulevard, eToys, egghead.com and 60 other brand name retailers.

The company is venture capital-backed with a $26 million investment from
Friedli Corporate Finance, a Swiss venture capital firm representing European
public and private investment funds and affiliates of major European banks.
