Minneapolis-based Select Comfort Corp. opened an online store to market its air
beds and sleep accessories.
“Since we already sell our products through direct marketing, adding
e-commerce as
a distribution channel was a natural transition,” said Dan McAthie, president
and CEO. Select Comfort also operates more than 275 company-owned stores
nationwide.
Consumers can learn about air bed technology, sleep facts and research, get
product information and place orders at the site.
Select Comfort is the country’s fifth largest mattress manufacturer and says
it is the first major mattress company to sell its products online.
Select Comfort also signed agreements with two online affiliate partners:
stayhealthy.com, a health and wellness site; and dunkandbright.com, a
furniture store that also sells online.
