Hearst’s HomeArts Network launched a holiday
shopping channel called “GO SHOPPING,” aimed at busy women seeking to avoid
crowded malls during the holiday season.
The shopping site will have 19
electronic commerce partners including Avon, BigStar.com, eToys, Sears and
barnesandnoble.com.
The site will fully integrate shopping with HomeArts’ women’s content, the
company said. For example, a woman looking for instructions on how to make
gingerbread houses on HomeArts’ Food channel will then be able to link to
barnesandnoble.com to
buy related cookbooks and to the Peapod Internet grocer to purchase the
ingredients.
Additional e-commerce partners include Eddie Bauer and Lands’ End, as well as
MuseumShop.com, artuframe.com, SmarterKids.com, First Auction, Cooking.com,
Peapod and VitaSave.
“The electronic-commerce partners participating in our GO SHOPPING program
share with HomeArts a dedication to helping women get what they want when they
want it,” said Kathryn Creech, general manager of the HomeArts Network. “Gone
are the days when women had time to spend days on end searching for that
perfect gift. Now they can do their research — and complete their purchases–with one quick visit to HomeArts.”
HomeArts’ e-commerce partners will get weekly online promotions,
co-branded banner advertising throughout the site, and inclusion in the Go
Shopping Weekly Wire e-mail newsletter. Financial arrangements were not
disclosed.
