Seattle-based electronic commerce software provider iCat Corp. signed marketing agreements with over 20 partners today in support of its newly unveiled Commerce Online service.
Commerce Online is a virtual “store” builder solution that enables small- to mid-sized companies to create an online presence using only their browsers. By selecting options such as store design, inventory selection, and checkout features, iCat said companies can launch an e-commerce site in as little as half an hour.
iCat said new Commerce Online customers can also leverage the company’s co-marketing programs that include online promotions, banner ads, and search engine submissions.
DejaNews, Netcentives, United Parcel Service, C NET, CyberCash, and Submit It! are among the companies that have signed co-marketing deals with iCat for Commerce Online. Under the agreements, the companies will promote Commerce Online to their site visitors, or offer their respective services to those who create a store using iCat.
“iCat Commerce Online leverages our technical leadership by providing great new software that anyone can use right from their browser, and packages our four years of e-commerce experience to help merchants know how to sell on the Web, what to sell on the Web, and how to attract and keep Web customers,” said Craig Danuloff, iCat president and CEO. “To top it off, we’ve partnered with the best-of-breed vendors in every conceivable service area that can make our clients more successful.”
Commerce Online is scheduled for availability April 15. Under iCat’s pricing
plan, stores with 10 items or less can be created free for the duration of the store’s existence. Larger stores will be priced on a sliding fee scale, beginning with 50 items per store for $49. The company said there will be no transaction fees charged.
