Infoseek Ranks Merchants on GO Network

Infoseek Corp., a partner in Disney’s the GO Network, signed an agreement this week with BizRate.com to provide
customer-rated merchant rankings to GO Network users.

Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

“We want shoppers at GO Network to have access to information that helps them
make educated, informed purchasing decisions,” said B.D. Goel, senior vice
president and general manager of commerce for Infoseek. “With BizRate.com, we
can offer the most trusted rating system on the Internet. Now, consumers can
see how other online customers rate the merchants that make up our overall GO
shop experience.”

Consumers who enter GO Network’s shopping area to compare products and
companies will have access to BizRate’s merchant performance ratings, which
are based on point-of-sale survey feedback from online buyers. To receive
more information, GO Network users can simply click the onscreen rating and go directly to a detailed
report card provided by BizRate.com.

Users can see how each merchant site performed on attributes such as ease of
ordering, product selection, on-time delivery and price, the companies said.

“By giving consumers the opportunity to compare merchants on more than just
price, BizRate.com offers the highest quality online shopping information
available,” said Farhad Mohit, president and CEO of BizRate.com.

As an impartial third party, BizRate.com evaluates e-commerce activity across
the Web by soliciting information from millions of online buyers each month
as they make their purchases. GO Network was launched in January 1999 by
Infoseek, in partnership with The Walt Disney Co.

In July, Disney announced its intentions to merge its Buena Vista Internet Group with
Infoseek, which will give Disney full control of the GO Network.
