Maagnum E-Commerce Services said it signed an outsourcing agreement with Philips Speech Processing, a business unit of Philips Consumer Electronics.

Under the terms of the agreement, Maagnum will provide integrated Internet
order management, credit card processing, fraud control, electronic software
distribution, fulfillment, back-office, and physical warehousing for the
online sale of speech processing products.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Connecticut-based Maagnum offers electronic commerce services including secure Internet order management, process management, storefront and catalog development, tax and shipping calculations, real-time payment processing, fraud control, electronic and physical goods warehousing and fulfillment, call center support, customer support, and Internet banking services.

Philips said it will be introducing and selling its SpeechMike on the Web, a PC accessory that combines a microphone, loudspeaker, and trackball mouse all into one device.

“By combining two navigational controls like speech and the trackball mouse
into one device, PC enthusiasts enjoy a new level of control and pure
ergonomic comfort at the PC. It’s like using the TV “clicker” for the first
time,” said Rick Gallahan, director of speech projects and sales support at
Philips.
