Internet transaction services company CyberSource Corp. said it is now providing
payment processing and risk management services for Mercata, an e-commerce
company that brings consumers together to help reduce product prices.

For the holiday season, Mercata implemented Credit Card Services and Internet Fraud Screen enhanced by Visa, part of the CyberSource Internet Commerce Suite, to provide its online customers with automated payment services and to guard against online fraud.

“We selected CyberSource because they have the scalability and reliability we need as we continue to build our community,” said Niklas Gustafsson, vice president of engineering for Mercata.

CyberSource provides online merchants with an outsourced suite of e-commerce
transaction services available on a fee per transaction basis. Its Internet Commerce Suite
includes: Credit Card Services, Tax Calculation, Internet Fraud Screen enhanced by Visa, Fulfillment Messaging, Delivery Address Verification, Digital Delivery, Digital Warehousing, Policy Compliance and Export Compliance.

Mercata’s dynamic group-buying process is made possible by its patent pending We-Commerce technology, which provides the means for consumers to join together to get deals on appliances, baby items, electronics, hobbies and collectibles, home and garden items, luggage, sports and fitness, gifts and gadgets, tools, watches and jewelry.
