Netmarket, which
markets
more than 800,000 name-brand products, is rolling out Netsanta and Toy
Auction, two new holiday destinations on its site for online shoppers.
Shoppers also have the opportunity to negotiate for gifts with Scrooge, who
makes his debut today on Netmarket’s e-commerce service The Haggle Zone. This holiday addition pits online
shoppers against the season’s most stingy character in a battle to get the
best prices on the most popular gifts.
Netsanta offers 40 holiday gift boutiques, each stocked with 10 to 15
hand-picked items. The boutiques are categorized by Budget, Special Person and
Hobbies.
Netsanta Holiday Shops can also be found on America Online, at Keyword NM.
The Hot Toy Auction, available Dec. 2 to Dec. 9, features the hottest and
hardest to find toys of the season, including Furby, A Bug’s Life, Rugrats,
Beanie Babies, Teletubbies, Blue’s Clues and others.
“Our Hot Toy Auction is built for customers who want the coolest toys for
Christmas and don’t want to duke it out with fellow shoppers at toy stores,”
said Kerry O’Neill, vice president of interactive services. “We expect this
auction to be wildly successful and a bonus for someone who wants the latest
and greatest toys of the year, simply at the click of a mouse.” Bidding for
the toys will start at $1.
Netmarket is a value-oriented site that spans most areas of consumer spending,
such as electronics, home furnishings and appliances. Netmarket is owned
