The Prodigy Business Solutions Group (PGSG) and Chicago-based Orbit Commerce
launched the Prodigy Commerce Center
, offering e-commerce services to small business customers nationwide.

“Most small-business owners face three major roadblocks to taking their
business online–time, cost and complexity. We’ve eliminated them all,”
said Paul Reilly, president and CEO of Orbit Commerce. “Using Orbit’s
seamless solution, Prodigy can offer small- to mid-sized companies the means
to build their own online storefronts using world-class e-commerce tools that
would cost exorbitant time and money if they pieced together the software,
hardware and expert assistance needed to do it themselves.

“Instead, Prodigy is making it possible for their customers to sell online
for a low monthly cost–comparable to a standard business phone bill.”

The Prodigy Commerce Center and Orbit offer solutions that enable sales, order
management, marketing promotions, sales tracking, real-time payment and
secure Internet transactions for small- to mid-sized businesses, as well as
the ability to scale up.

Merchants who join the Prodigy Commerce Center can build and launch their
e-commerce site quickly using Orbit’s “SiteBuilder” tool. Financial
arrangements between the companies were not disclosed.
