Pixelpark Opens Convergence Media Labs in NY, Hamburg

Pixelpark USA, the U.S. branch of Germany’s
international e-commerce
agency, opened Convergence Media Labs for Internet and television clients.

Pixelpark’s Convergence Media Labs in New York City will offer research,
consulting, development and production, including the creation of new content,
enhanced TV formats and e-commerce solutions for Internet and broadcasting
clients.

The Convergence Media Lab is an extension of Pixelpark’s Bridge to Europe
program, which was formed to help U.S. companies enter the European market,
while offering the same service to European companies wishing to enter the
U.S. market.

The Hamburg-based Media Lab is focused on device-independent production
systems and streaming media content development. With its back-office
experience in separating content from visual presentation, the Hamburg Lab
will help Pixelpark clients scale their content and functionality from PDA and
set-top boxes to normal PCs with all-in-one solutions.

“Our early operational
experience will enable us to succeed in strategic consulting research of
future advertising to advanced intranets for clients like Unilever, WWF (World
Wildlife Fund), Bertelsmann and Lufthansa, Harald Behnke, head of Unit
Pixelpark Hamburg.”

“In the next years Internet e-commerce and broadcasting will become the key
convergence
industries. Pixelpark is now well-positioned to help its clients explore new
possibilities of one-to-one marketing and customer relations with these
emerging platforms,” said Harald Neidhardt, president and CEO of Pixelpark
USA.

Anette Schaefer was named director of Convergence Media, Pixelpark USA.
Schaefer specializes in strategic consulting, marketing concepts and creative
solutions for broadcasters. In her position at Pixelpark, Schaefer will
provide entre for U.S. clients seeking to expand into the European
convergence market (and vice versa), and to establish solid intercultural
relations within the global Internet, media
and entertainment industry, the company said.

Since 1993, Schaefer has worked as a freelance media strategy consultant for
such European advertising clients as MediaGroup Munich, TBWA, and Heye &
Partner/DDB Needham.

Both offices will offer e-commerce clients the opportunity to test their Web
sites using technical solutions for convergence media, including the
development of special solutions for the combination of Internet and
television.

Pixelpark USA’s clients include the Museum of Modern Art, Visa International
and Bertelsmann AG. Founded by President/Chairman Paulus Neef in 1991,
Pixelpark’s world headquarters are located in Berlin.
