In an effort to put privacy at the forefront of Web
industry concerns, Siegel & Gale Interactive Media Group formed
a partnership with non-profit privacy organization TRUSTe to educate
businesses and consumers about online privacy protection.
Siegel & Gale’s commitment began with a re-design of the TRUSTe Web site, launching today and carrying
the new slogan “Building a Web you can believe in.”
The new image, created to clarify TRUSTe’s brand message and value to
consumers, will be integrated throughout the TRUSTe advertising campaign
and all other
educational and promotional materials.
Siegel & Gale is an interactive media
company with expertise in strategic business consulting and leadership in the
area of online privacy and its impact on brand development.
“Siegel & Gale has demonstrated tremendous commitment to the promotion of
privacy on the Internet,” said Susan Scott, Executive Director of TRUSTe,
which was founded in 1996 by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and
CommerceNet Consortium and is supported by a network of corporate sponsors
that include America Online, Excite, IBM, Microsoft, and Netscape.
“Their work on the site and continuing clarification of the TRUSTe identity
and message will prove invaluable as we forge ahead to educate companies and
promote consumer privacy protection on the Web,” Scott said.
The overall goal of the partnership is to expand outreach to Fortune 1000
companies on the role that privacy plays in establishing a trusting
relationship with consumers.
Future collaborations will include joint participation in related seminars,
conferences and other initiatives connected to Internet privacy issues.
“Online privacy protection is more than just an issue of consumer advocacy and
legislation, it’s a critical business concern that is essential to new media
brand-building. Companies engaging in electronic commerce and online
information services without a privacy policy for their Web sites may be
leaving money on the table,” said Andrew Zolli, vice president at Siegel &
Gale Interactive Media Group.
“Siegel & Gale has always been a strong advocate
for protecting consumer’s online privacy. Partnering with TRUSTe allows us to
take a more active role in current and future initiatives that
address the privacy issue and will ultimately foster the growth of Internet
commerce and information exchange,” Zolli said.
The partnership includes Siegel & Gale’s commitment to become a contributing
sponsor and licensee of the TRUSTe program.
