Under the category of “gee, why isn’t everybody doing this and why not sooner” comes
Snailgram.com, which recently launched as a site that enables customers to use the Internet to buy and send paper greeting cards along with gift certificates.
Through Snailgram.com’s Web site, consumers and businesses can select a holiday or general purpose greeting card, include a personalized message and have it sent to anyone via postal mail that same business day.
Hallmark.com has no such service that we could find, although AmericanGreetings.com does.
But Snailgram.com lets customers upload graphics, photos or corporate logos to be printed inside their greeting cards. In addition, users can choose to have a Snailgram.com staff member write the message out in long hand for an even more personal touch.
“While the e-greetings industry has been highly popular with consumers, research shows people still believe that paper greeting cards offer a more personal touch and longer-lasting value,” said Sriram Iyer, Snailgram.com CEO and co-founder.
“Millions of Americans still very much want to send and receive traditional greeting cards but are looking for the kind of enhanced selection and increased convenience the Internet provides.”
Snailgram.com has more than 1,000 greeting cards grouped by theme and occasion, and provides its customers with a free suite of tools including an online reminder service, address book, and gift registry.
Along with greeting cards, Snailgram customers can include gift certificates from national name brand stores including AMC Theaters, Barnes and Noble, Crabtree & Evelyn, The Sharper Image, Copeland’s Sporting Goods and others.
