San Francisco-based ThirdAge.com, “the Web Site for
Grownups, ” launched a holiday shopping initiative that was developed with
first-time
online shoppers in mind.

The effort includes Holiday Shopping Central, Smart Shopper’s Information
Center and an exclusive Third Age Shopping Tool.

The Third Age shopping initiative combines practical information about
e-commerce including “E-Biz Buyer Bewares” and “Smart Spending: Online
Shopping
that Pays” with its exclusive interactive tools and trusted retail brands.

Holiday Shopping Central brings 17 premium online retailers of particular
interest to adults moving toward and beyond 50 to the Third Age neighborhood.
Among the online retailers are: Art.com, Eddie Bauer, eBay, Garden.com, Gift-
Ties.com, HearthSong, Philips, Reel.com, SelfCare and TravelSmith.

Smart Shopper’s Central contains articles on topics such as “How to Buy a
Computer,” “Online Shopping 101,” “Budgeting for the Holidays,” “Holiday
Bargains” and “Shopping Stress.” The Shopping Tool, designed by a Third Age
team member with a mother-in-law who has everything, guides gift-givers
through a series of questions. Such as “Who is the gift recipient?” to “How
would you describe the type of gift you would like to give?” The tool
calculates the answers to generate a list of 10 Third Age endorsed gifts.

“By implementing a holiday shopping initiative, we are enhancing the
overall value of our site,” said Mary Furlong, Third Age CEO and founder.
“This initiative provides Third Agers with a trusted place that is
specifically tailored to their unique shopping needs.”
