Travelocity.com signed a three-year marketing deal with Hollywood Media Corp.
that makes the latter’s Broadway.com site the primary theater ticketing
service for the online travel business.
Travelocity said it will offer members traveling to New
York, London, Las Vegas and Toronto the opportunity to purchase tickets
through Broadway.com, which will be promoted throughout the site.
In addition, Travelocity.com will market Broadway.com as part of its new
Concierge Services feature and in its “Bon Voyage” e-mail, provided to
confirmed travelers and personalized to their destination and time of travel.
Financial arrangements were not disclosed.
Travelocity’s new Concierge Services page allows members to pre-book a
variety of destination activities, including theater tickets, restaurant
reservations and event tickets. Concierge Services complements the site’s core travel products by
offering members suggested add-on activities and services for their upcoming
trip, which they can then book online.
“The Internet has proven to be an ideal channel for both ticketing and
travel-related services, and we look forward to working with Travelocity to
continue to increase the value of both of our complementary services,” said
Mitchell Rubenstein, chairman and CEO of Hollywood Media ,
a provider of news, information and ticketing covering the entertainment and
media industries.
