Microsoft Scores Goodwill With Windows 7

Microsoft might not have done itself any favors with the release of Windows Vista, an operating system that was generally rejected by consumers polled in a prominent index gauging customer satisfaction.

But with Windows 7, Microsoft appears to be winning back some of the good will it lost over the past few years. How much? Enough to net the company its highest score ever on the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI).

Datamation has the details on Microsoft’s strong showing in the latest survey.


Microsoft’s image with consumers has had its ups and downs in recent years. However, Windows 7’s release appears to be rapidly rehabilitating Microsoft’s (NASDAQ) image as it begins to erase bad memories of Windows Vista, according to a new consumer survey.

The annual American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), released this week, shows that the company’s low satisfaction scores for the past three years appear to have been vanquished by the advent of Windows 7.
