Oracle Refreshes Content Management Suite

Enterprises are drowning in information as new content is being created and delivered from an increasing variety of sources ranging from the traditional to newer forms like blogs, wikis and digital media.

One way to corral all that information is a content management system. eCRMGuide reports on Oracle’s latest CMS offering and why integration is a key to making such systems work effectively.

Oracle is updating its Enterprise Content Management Suite 11g, unifying several key middleware components for customers looking for a comprehensive and manageable way to access, share and recall data anywhere in the organization.

“People don’t have a problem creating content,” Andy MacMillan, vice president of product management for Oracle’s (NASDAQ: ORCL) ECM group, told “They have problem managing it and finding it.”

The ECM refresh complements the rest of the Fusion middleware stack by incorporating updated versions of Oracle’s Universal Content Management 11g and Universal Records Management 11g, giving users what MacMillan described as a universal repository that can be accessed by employees down the hall or halfway around the world to “bring content management to where they work.”
