SaaS Deals Lack Full Adoption?

Have Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings hit a serious bump in the road to wider adoption?

Enterprises have raised security and control issues related to SaaS applications for years, but plenty of SaaS providers, headed by Salesforce, have overcome those objections to make serious inroads across the spectrum of customers from SMBs to global corporations and organizations.

But while SaaS applications and services are proving to be increasingly popular, the results of a recent survey reported by Datamation indicates a significant number of companies aren’t ready to fully commit to SaaS.

As famously described by Gartner many years ago, most new technologies start off with a lot of euphoria in the press and analyst worlds. Then, as the trade-offs, limitations and other negatives show up, the euphoria turns into a more pragmatic view. New survey data from Bloomberg Businessweek Research Services shows that SaaS is now moving from euphoria to pragmatism for some companies.
