SaaS Revolution Brings Changes to Enterprises

With on-demand software growing in popularity, IT managers are being forced to rethink the data center and the various effects of an on-demand world. Sure, it means needing less hardware and less installed apps, but on-demand hasn’t resulted in a wholesale rejection of on-premises software, either. A balance has to be struck.

The question now is how to keep that balance between traditional and new IT services. A panel group at the AlwaysOn OnDemand conference discussed this issue. Datamation has the report.


PALO ALTO, Calif.–Software-as-a-service (SaaS) is finding its way into enterprises in unique ways and having its own special impact on how business is done.

That was the consensus of four panelists here at the AlwaysOn OnDemand conference, hosted in HP’s Palo Alto, Calif. headquarters. All four have their own on-demand software firms and shared their experiences in dealing with enterprise customers.
