Sybase Taps HP for BI Reference Architecture

How do you attract more enterprise customers? One strategy, that database software company Sybase is pursuing, is to partner with trusted suppliers, in this case computer giant HP (NYSE: HPQ). Sybase itself is already firmly aligned with venerable enterprise software provider SAP (NYSE: SAP), which purchased the company earlier this year.

As Datamation reports, certain HP servers are now a reference architecture for Sybase’s IQ 15 business intelligence platform designed to help enterprise customers with data-intensive queries.


Touting what it says is

significantly lower

total cost of ownership, Sybase has announced that its IQ 15 business intelligence (BI) software is now a reference architecture on HP ProLiant DL785 servers.

The joint solution is designed to optimize query response and data loads, while reducing overhead, storage costs and maintenance requirements.
