Auspex Systems, Inc. today announced that its new NS3000 family of Network Attached Storage (NAS) servers has been certified for use in Informix database environments.

“Enterprises are migrating from direct attached storage to network attached storage for storing and serving their databases because of the clear advantages of the NAS architecture for data management as well as performance benefits unavailable in direct-attached mode,” said Lawrence Didsbury, Manager of Strategic Alliances for Auspex Systems. “With this certification, the more than 100,000 organizations that operate in Informix environments can move to NAS storage with the assurance that their data is safe.”

Auspex said capabilities such as a parallel processing and file layout optimization offer performance benefits by helping speed data delivery to end users.
