Benchmark Storage Innovations, Inc. today announced the introduction of the Benchmark ValuSmart Tape(TM) 640 Blade, which it says is the industry’s first integrated 2-Unit (3.34 inches) high DLT autoloader, the first automation product to utilize Benchmark’s ValuSmart Tape 80 half-high DLT tape drive, and the industry’s first rack-optimized DLT autoloader.
“The ValuSmart Tape 640 Blade is a significant advancement in automation innovation,” said Lew Frauenfelder, Benchmark’s CEO and president. “It offers the reassurance of industry-standard DLT technology in a revolutionary rack-optimized, easy-to-use automation solution.”
According to Benchmark, the ValuSmart Tape 640 Blade offers 640 GB of compressed capacity and a 6 MB/second compressed transfer rate.
