Brocade Certifies CNT Storage Router

CNT(R) today announced that its UltraNet Edge Storage Router has been verified by Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. as interoperable with Brocade-based Storage Area Networking (SAN) infrastructure. T

According to the companies, the testing was conducted through the Brocade Fabric Aware(TM) Program, an end-to-end interoperability initiative for enterprise SANs. The program is a comprehensive testing and configuration initiative designed to foster end-to-end SAN interoperability in multi-vendor Brocade-based SAN environments.

“CNT is thrilled to announce that our UltraNet Edge Storage Router has achieved Fabric Aware status for Fibre Channel over IP. Since introducing Fibre Channel over IP solutions to the market in April 2000, CNT has long recognized the importance of product interoperability and is actively involved in creating interoperability standards in the Fibre Channel SAN industry,” said Mark Knittel, vice president of worldwide product operations, CNT. “Brocade’s Fabric Aware Program is a vital step toward ensuring interoperability, which is key in enabling customers to understand, implement, and manage their SANs more easily.”

“We are pleased that CNT has successfully completed the Fabric Aware testing with Brocade fabric switches in heterogeneous SAN environments,” said Jay Kidd, Brocade vice president of Product Marketing.

In related news, CNT and Brocade will be joined by representatives from Cisco in presenting a SNIA-sponsored educational interoperability lab tutorial on the globalization of storage networks at the upcoming Storage Networking World Conference, October 22 – 24 in Orlando, Fla.
