Chaparral Network Storage, Inc. today announced today that its FS1310 and FS2620 Fiber Channel storage routers have earned Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (Brocade) certification as being interoperable with Brocade-based SAN infrastructure.
According to the companies, the testing was conducted through the Brocade Fabric Aware(TM) Program, an end-to-end interoperability initiative for enterprise Storage Area Networks (SANs). The program is a comprehensive testing and configuration initiative designed to foster end-to-end SAN interoperability in multi-vendor, heterogeneous environments.
“This achievement clearly validates our commitment in providing interoperable products for present and future SAN deployments,” said Jerry Walker, executive vice president of corporate development, Chaparral Network Storage. “Brocade’s extensive testing criteria in their world-class facility provides tremendous value for our mutual customers by certifying interoperability in a large fabric environment. This is a major step in removing the guesswork and headaches associated with integrating disparate systems.”
Chaparral says its Intelligent Storage Routers can bridge the gap between SCSI devices and Fibre Channel networks. In addition, Chaparral Routers can move data from disk to tape, tape to disk, or disk to disk. This protects a company’s original investment in SCSI storage devices such as tape libraries and SCSI disk arrays, reducing total cost of ownership. In addition, the Chaparral FS1310 Router is the first router of its kind to be certified by Brocade.
