DataCore Certifies INRANGE Fibre Channel Director

May 14, 2001

INRANGE Technologies today announced that its IN-VSN(TM) FC/9000(TM) Fibre Channel Director has been certified by DataCore(TM) Software Corporation to operate in Storage Area Networks (SAN) with DataCore’s SANSymphony(TM) storage virtualization software.

According to INRANGE, the FC/9000 can expand from 24 ports to 128 ports, giving users a high-performance networking infrastructure that makes SAN management and growth easier.

“With the demand for storage doubling each year, users require highly scalable solutions that can help them to sustain growth and manage more capacity with existing resources,” said INRANGE EVP and CTO Charles Foley. “SANs built on the FC/9000’s Extensible Core Architecture (XCA) and that support powerful virtualization tools such as SANSymphony can deliver common access to all data, at any time, while making storage expansion and resource management easier and far more cost-effective.”

The companies also announced that INRANGE has joined DataCore’s SANvantage(TM) Technical Partner Program, which brings together industry leaders focused on delivering interoperable, open systems SAN technology to joint customers.
