Dell Scores with NFL Storage Deal

Dell today announced that the National Football League (NFL) plans to install Dell servers and Dell/EMC storage systems exclusively over the next 12 months. Back in October, Dell and EMC announced a five-year, multi-billion dollar strategic alliance agreement to accelerate the growth of both companies’ storage systems businesses. As part of the agreement, the League said it plans to install Dell servers to help ensure reliable, consistent communication between the league and the teams. For the Super Bowl, Dell PowerEdge 6450 servers will process game-day statistics and manage behind-the-scenes tasks. The NFL will also use Dell computer systems in the temporary offices the NFL establishes in New Orleans in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl.

Dell views this customer win as a great opportunity to showcase its products. “Supporting a premier event like the Super Bowl gives Dell an opportunity to showcase the performance and reliability of our products — performance and reliability that our customers demand and deserve,” said Ro Parra, senior vice president and general manager of Dell Americas.
