Dot Hill Systems Corp. this week introduced a rack-mountable storage system called SANnet RAID Blade. RAID Blade provides up to 292 gigabytes of storage in a 1U (1.75 inches high) system.
“Dot Hill’s RAID Blade storage system is easy to use, and transfers data at rates up to 160 megabytes (MB) per second. It lowers the entry point for storage customers without sacrificing performance. Customers will value the RAID Blade’s ability to directly connect to a server via a SCSI port and achieve high performance without the need for a host bus adaptor,” said James Lambert, chief executive of Dot Hill. “This latest addition to our family of highly reliable SANnet storage solutions can be easily managed using Dot Hill’s SANscape(TM) software. The SANnet RAID Blade enables businesses to improve data protection while reducing system overhead.”
The SANnet RAID Blade storage system comes with a RAID controller and four hot-swappable SCSI disks drives of 18 GB, 36 GB or 73 GB.
