FalconStor Software, Inc.
, a storage networking infrastructure software company, today announced its entrance into the Latin American market by adding Smart Development Ltd., a Brazil-based solution provider, to its growing list of business partners worldwide.

Under the terms of this agreement, Smart Development will promote and market IPStor(TM) software, FalconStor’s flagship product, to a significant number of multinational companies–key storage services providers, application service providers, and storage/server appliance vendors–in Latin America.

“We wanted to establish a presence in Brazil because of its hotbed of technology and corporate interest in virtualization. Smart Development is an ideal partner because of its strong business ties and expertise in the storage arena,” said Wendy Petty, vice president of sales for FalconStor. “Having strong business partnerships is the cornerstone for success when entering into new markets, and this area provides the perfect conditions for companies looking to expand their operations into Latin America.”

FalconStor said it will work closely with Smart Development to provide pre-sales and post-sales support, customer service and technical assistance to business partners and clients throughout Latin America.
