FileNET Introduces Panagon ECM Edition


FileNET Corp., a provider of business process management software solutions, today announced its Panagon(TM) Enterprise Content Management (ECM) initiative.


According to the company, FileNET will deliver expanded capabilities for managing all forms of content and business processes inside and outside of the enterprise. This edition of Panagon leverages a strong record of accomplishment for solving business-critical content and process management problems and will now include integrated capabilities well beyond competitive Web site management offerings.

The company says that Panagon is a tightly integrated enterprise process and content management infrastructure and extensible application development platform that automates and optimizes an organization’s business processes. Expanded capabilities planned for FileNET’s Panagon ECM edition include:

--  Mobile device support to extend enterprise content and process
    management capabilities to mobile workers

--  Content interchange utilizing additional XML capabilities for
    extracting and exporting metadata (content properties), and
    handling large, complex document interchange

--  Template-driven content authoring for authors to quickly and
    easily create and add content without complex Web authoring tools

--  HTML authoring provided through seamless integration with tools
    such as Macromedia Dreamweaver and Adobe GoLive via the WebDAV
    standard

--  Native retention management capabilities providing Web content
    lifecycle management to maintain accurate and time-sensitive
    content

--  Process management and reporting tools to provide analysis of
    processes, workload and application productivity

--  Web site staging and publishing to make exporting content to Web
    application servers significantly easier and more robust, meeting
    the needs for Web site deployment

--  Search feature enhancements to provide multi-library searching and
    other usability features, significantly increasing user
    productivity

--  LDAP user and group synchronization will be extended to provide
    direct user authentication and will include additional
    LDAP-compliant directory servers

--  JAVA toolkits to allow for the development and deployment of
    Web-based applications into Unix environments

--  Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server (SPPS) integration allowing
    companies to create, deploy and search Panagon's ECM content
    through an SPPS departmental portal

--  Expanded Sun Solaris support including two additional Panagon
    server products
