Finisar to Support iSCSI in Monitoring and Analysis Software

Finisar Corporation this week announced iSCSI protocol support in subsidary’s Shomiti Systems Surveyor 4.0 Monitoring and Analysis software console.


According to the company, Shomiti’s Surveyor 4.0 will introduce complete and accurate decodes of the current iSCSI protocol draft standard. Finisar plans to extend iSCSI support into its market and technology line of GTX protocol analyzers, traffic generators, SANmetrics and SAN analysis software products in the third and fourth calendar quarters of 2001. GTX-THG is the first of these iSCSI product offerings.


“Finisar has earned a reputation and market leading position for delivering a comprehensive line of feature rich, accurate, detailed and high-performance solutions for Fibre Channel and InfiniBand,” said Bill Shaw, President and CEO Shomiti Systems-A Finisar Company. “With our newest product offerings, we are extending this leadership into iSCSI,” added Shaw.


GTX-THG is currently in Beta and is scheduled for First Customer Shipment in July 2001. Finisar will demo the GTX-THG product this week at the SAN 2001 Conference and Exhibition in San Jose.
