Fujitsu Softek(TM) and DataCore(TM) Software today announced they have entered into a strategic alliance whereby DataCore will act as the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) to Fujitsu Softek and its new Softek Storage Virtualization(TM) product. The storage virtualization solution will be based upon DataCore’s storage networking and virtualization technology.
“The joint venture with DataCore enables us to immediately provide a vendor-independent storage provisioning solution to our customers who are struggling with the complexity of having to manage critical application availability needs while cost effectively managing an expanded storage infrastructure. This solution allows customers to achieve higher utilization of existing resources by speeding the provisioning of their SAN (Storage Area Network) storage on demand,” said Steven F.X. Murphy, President and CEO of Fujitsu Softek.
Softek Storage Virtualization, the company says, will enable users to look at their entire storage situation and allocate or assign storage with a simple drag and drop of an icon.
