Fujitsu Softek Offers SAN Optimization Software

Fujitsu Softek today announced Softek Storage Virtualization(TM), a software product that the company claims simplifies the provisioning of storage resources by removing the legacy boundaries of direct connections between storage hardware and software.

According to the company, the software creates storage pools for SAN devices so that application specific capacity isn’t tied to a specific server, but is available for allocation wherever necessary. From the shared storage pool, IT professionals can provision disk space to application servers centrally with the click of a mouse.

In addition, since Softek Storage Virtualization is vendor-agnostic, IT managers have ability to implement a new SAN by re-deploying existing storage and hardware resources.
