Gadzoox Networks today announced it has completed certification of its Slingshot family of 2Gb Open Fabric switches with LSI Logic 1Gb and 2Gb host bus adapters (HBAs) and MetaStor(R) storage systems.
The Slingshot family was certified by LSI Logic subsidiary, Storage Systems, Inc. (SSI) and awarded its “Certified Compatible” logo for full compliance in SAN environments under various operating conditions.
According to the companies, Gadzoox Networks’ Slingshot 4218 and Slingshot 4210 2Gb Open Fabric switches underwent extensive testing with LSI Logic’s Fibre Channel HBAs, the LSI44929O and the LSI40919O, and LSI Logic’s E-Series MetaStor storage systems, including the latest E4600 storage system equipped with 2Gb Fibre Channel data communications. Additionally, the Gadzoox Networks’ support and sales teams for the Slingshot 4218 and 4210 were cross-trained on LSI Logic’s storage solutions for enhanced customer support.
The certification program tested the Slingshot family’s functionality, stability, interoperability, speed auto-negotiation and fault tolerance in real-world situations.
