InterSAN(TM), an applications-based Storage Area Management (SAM) software vendor, today announced it will integrate its software with information storage systems from EMC Corporation.
According to InterSAN, its software integrates with EMC’s networked storage by managing the relationship between an application, its storage, and everything in between with the goal of reducing total cost of ownership.
Through the EMC E-Infostructure(TM) Developers’ Program, InterSAN says it has access to the advanced functionality and business benefits of EMC’s SymmAPI, and the ability to access and integrate EMC’s information management, sharing, and protection tools to complement its SAM software. According to Gartner Group, EMC’s hardware products represent 34.6% of the enterprise storage industry, nearly three times its closest competitor, which allows InterSAN to immediately support a vast portion of the enterprise storage market.
“EMC information storage systems and software are the most open and flexible in the market. By utilizing our programming interfaces through the EMC E-Infostructure Developers’ Program, InterSAN will help customers better manage their complex environments,” said Linda Wright, senior director of Global Alliances, EMC.
“We are delighted to be able to integrate with EMC’s high-end information storage systems and software,” said Chris Melville, co-founder, president, and CEO of InterSAN. “Aligned with EMC, InterSAN provides our mutual customers a comprehensive solution for simply and reliably implementing best practices across their storage infrastructure to provide a strategic business advantage.”
