SAN managment vendor InterSAN(TM) this week announced support for QLogic Corporation and its SANblade host bus adapters (HBAs) in large, complex, multi-vendor storage networks. In additon, the company said it is also pursuing support for QLogic SANbox switches.
According to the companies, QLogic and InterSAN have worked closely to simplify networked storage management through tight interoperability. As a result of InterSAN’s support for QLogic’s SANblade Fibre Channel HBAs, the companies said customers can more easily and cost effectively monitor, manage, and optimize their complex, distributed SANs that leverage QLogic’s products.
InterSAN and QLogic are members of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Fibre Channel Working Group (FCWG) focusing on standardizing a Common HBA API that will enhance the manageability of SANs.
