Legato Announces OEM Agreement With Fujitsu

Nov 6, 2001

Legato Systems, Inc. today announced an OEM agreement with Fujitsu Limited, making Legato’s data availability and protection solutions available to Fujitsu’s enterprise-level customers worldwide.

“We expect our relationship with Legato, the storage industry leader in robust and highly functional data protection and high availability solutions, to follow closely in the footsteps of the very successful OEM relationship developed between Legato and Fujitsu Siemens Computers in Europe,” said Takashi Aoki, member of the board, group president, Computer Systems Group, Fujitsu Limited. “By offering our customers Legato technology, we are able to provide assurance that their business critical information will always be available.”

“This agreement is a clear endorsement of the strength of Legato’s products and Legato’s leadership role in the storage management software market,” said David Beamer, executive vice president, worldwide sales and marketing, Legato Systems, Inc. “We’re particularly pleased that Fujitsu is integrating Legato NetWorker and SmartMedia in its high availability software solutions for e-commerce and will be using Celestra to deliver serverless backup.”
