Legato Systems, Inc. this week announced that EMC Corporation has qualified Legato(R) Automated Availability Manager (LAAM) as E-Lab tested for wide area network (WAN) access with EMC’s Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF(TM)) software on IBM servers running the AIX operating system.
According to Legato, this automated, heterogeneous solution provides business continuance by leveraging EMC SRDF to replicate data and applications for seamless failover across a WAN to a replicated data center or secondary site. At the secondary site, the company said LAAM automates the restoration of the data and applications for fast and efficient resumption of business. LAAM for EMC SRDF also has been certified for HP-UX, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX and Windows 2000.
