Maxtor Corporation today announced the availability of the Maxtor MaxAttach(TM) NAS 4300 file server.
According to Maxtor, the 400GB rack-mountable IDE-based 1U-high file server includes software to periodically record a “snapshot” of the server’s file system. So if a file is inadvertently erased, the stored image can be accessed for instant recovery.
“Maxtor continues to lead in the workgroup-class file server category with the features that IT managers value most,” said Eric Kelly, president of Maxtor’s Network Systems Group. “The new MaxAttach NAS 4300 offers superior data availability by allowing administrators to ‘roll back in time’ to recover inadvertently deleted files. This file server builds upon our efforts to provide the most manageable, interoperable and easy-to-use NAS solutions on the market today.”
Maxtor says the Windows Powered MaxAttach NAS file server enables a variety of storage solutions incorporating applications from software companies such as Legato Systems, OTG Software and VERITAS Software.
