McDATA Appoints New President to Board


McDATA Corporation (R), today announced the appointment of John A. Kelley to the company’s Board of Directors. Kelley, McDATA’s new president and chief operating officer, will serve as a Class I Director until the 2004 annual meeting of stockholders.

Kelley, who joined McDATA Aug. 27, as its president and chief operating officer, was most recently executive vice president for Qwest Communications International.

Kelley serves on the board of directors for both Polycom, Inc. of Milipitas, Calif. and Captaris Inc., of Bellevue, Wash. He has more than 25 years of experience and has held a number of senior executive positions.
