McDATA(R) Corporation today announced that its Galaxy-class 6000 Series Directors are upgradeable to 10 gigabit per second (Gbps).
“McDATA was the clear choice when it came to building our storage network. Their Galaxy-class 6000 Series Directors are the right fit for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee,” said Bob Venable, manager of enterprise systems at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. “McDATA is the only manufacturer with a history of proven products that are flexible enough to grow with our growing data storage needs. We may not need 10Gbps today, but with our data storage needs multiplying daily, we will in the future. McDATA’s 6000 Series Directors give us the flexibility and confidence to upgrade when it makes sense for us.”
“IT administrators are increasingly faced with the burden of balancing their companies’ growing storage needs within the limitations of their budgets,” said Eric Sheppard, a senior analyst with IDC. “McDATA has designed a solid line of products that helps protect a company’s investment in storage by offering products that meet storage needs today and are able to expand to meet future growth.”
