McDATA Corporation(R) today announced it is bolstering its European services by signing an Elite Partner and adding to its European sales force.

McDATA said it expanded its distribution channel by partnering with Magirus, a German-based value-added distributor of client-server solutions. McDATA also enhanced its
capabilities to support and develop sales throughout Europe by hiring Juergen
Carbon as senior sales manager, channels EMEA.

Through this agreement, Magirus — a McDATA Elite Partner — adds McDATA’s
industry-leading storage area network (SAN) full family of solutions to its
portfolio, including McDATA’s Galaxy-class 6000 Series Directors, 3000 Series
Fabric Switches, 1000 Series Loop Switches, and McDATA’s Enterprise Solutions
Architecture(TM) software: Enterprise Operating System (E/OS(TM)) and
Enterprise Fabric Connectivity Management (EFCM).

“With Magirus as a distributor of our complete core-to-edge SAN solutions
portfolio, we have won a strong partner with a broad access to mid-sized
enterprises all over Europe,” said Mike Gustafson, vice president of worldwide
sales for McDATA. “At the same time, we also gain an experienced and talented
senior sales manager in Juergen Carbon.”

In Europe, Carbon will develop additional indirect distribution channels
for McDATA’s solutions and will provide additional support for McDATA’s
complete line of hardware, software and services solutions.
