Memtech Launches Wolverine Solid State Flash Drive

Memtech announced the launch of its latest product, the Wolverine, an low profile, high performance, 10 Gigabyte drive. Memtech said Wolverine is designed for use in laptop and networking applications that require extremely rugged and reliable small form factor storage.


According to the company, its drives are designed for low power consumption in critical operating conditions and are built to withstand extreme temperature, pressure, moisture, shock, vibration and power loss. The Wolverine, Memtech said, is an extremely low-profile (9.5 mm), 2.5 inch solid state flash drive with storage capacity of 128 MB – 6 GB for the 9.5mm drive and 10G for the 12.5mm drive and sustained read speeds of 16 MBps and sustained write speeds of 3-4 MBps.

The Wolverine is priced at under $1 per megabyte and is slated to be available in the first quarter of 2002.
