MTI Launches Beijing Office

Nov 1, 2001

MTI Technology Corp. , a provider of data storage solutions, today announced the formal establishment of operations in China with the opening of its Bejing office. MTI said it will be working in China to provide enterprise storage solutions and professional services to China’s information technology infrastructure.

Wilson Wan, vice general manager of IDC China, said, “it coincides with the favorable trade relations now developing between China and the United States and with the vast investment China has made in its fiber optic highway and support of the 2008 Olympics,” Wan said at a ceremony launching MTI’s new office in the Beijing Telecom Hotel. “Governments and private enterprises have long benefited from the advanced capabilities of MTI’s high-performance storage and disaster recovery solutions.”

“We’re excited to be part of this auspicious time in China, believing as we do that if our two nations can work together, so can our businesses,” said Paul Emery, MTI’s chief operating officer.

Emery added that MTI plans to expand its sales and service operation in China with offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou as business volumes warrant. He also announced that Bill Decker, senior vice president of business development, would manage the company’s China organization with Larry Herring, providing technical support leadership.
