Network Appliance, a provider of network-attached data access and content delivery solutions, today announced certification for use of Hewlett-Packard Company’s HP MC/ServiceGuard with NetApp(R) storage solutions for Oracle(R) database environments.
This database solution enables enterprise customers to achieve continuous access to information stored on NetApp filers from their Oracle applications running on all HP enterprise servers.
According to the companies, the certification follows extensive testing at HP’s Partner Technology Access Center in New Jersey. There the two companies successfully deployed HP MC/ServiceGuard with NetApp storage solutions to facilitate seamless failover operations that ensure the high availability and reliability of mission-critical data. The certified solution supports both stand-alone filers and clustered filer configurations from Network Appliance.
HP said its MC/ServiceGuard helps keep applications and data continuously available and effectively managed for system maintenance, load fluctuations, and human errors. It also protects applications from a wide range of hardware and software failures. Its proven technology and robust quality make HP MC/ServiceGuard one of the most deployed high availability cluster solutions for mission-critical environments.
NetApp’s Clustered Failover solution further enhances continuous access to information from the application. In the event of a filer failure, its partner will seamlessly take over its full function in a way that is completely transparent to users. The availability, scalability, and simplicity of NetApp filers allow customers to significantly lower their total cost of ownership (TCO) for their overall computing environments.
NetApp storage solutions and the certified HP MC/ServiceGuard package for NetApp are available immediately from Network Appliance.
