nStor Announces Partnership with Adaptec

nStor Technologies, an information storage systems provider, this week announced it will provide Adaptec Inc. with products, technology and services to be incorporated into current and future product offerings.

“Combining nStor’s innovative power package and cooling products with Adaptec’s industry-leading I/O expertise, we have developed a highly interoperable RAID solution we believe will enable us to make significant inroads into the $800 million entry level external storage market,” said Lee Caswell, vice president and general manager of Adaptec’s Storage Solutions Group.

“nStor views this design win as a significant part of our overall business strategy, enabling us to continue our role as a leading storage supplier and sustain long-term growth,” said Jim Habuda, vice president of OEM sales, nStor Technologies. “This agreement with Adaptec is truly a noteworthy accomplishment for nStor, as it validates the value of our technology to this marketplace.”

“Recent studies show that storage hardware spending is increasing as an overall percentage of IT budgets,” said Tom Makmann, president and COO, nStor Technologies. “The amount of data and software applications required to run today’s businesses also continues to proliferate. We are aggressively positioning ourselves to take advantage of these market opportunities. By partnering in product development with leading storage providers such as Adaptec, we are able to make our technology increasingly prevalent in the industry. Customers will also benefit from this relationship, since Adaptec and nStor will combine resources to develop state-of-the-art products that take full advantage of emerging storage technologies.”
