nStor Technologies, Inc. today announced the University of Southern California (USC) has selected it to implement a centralized storage solution at its Information Sciences Institute (ISI).
According to nStor, the NexStor 3150 Fibre Channel RAID system will provide the information storage infrastructure for the ISI’s broad spectrum of activities, including research and development of advanced computing and communication technologies. The ISI currently has approximately one dozen Sun, NT and SGI servers, each with its own direct-attached storage. The platform-independent NexStor 3150 allows ISI to consolidate its storage into a centralized pool, providing easy storage allocation among servers and simplified tape backup procedures.
