Precise Announces Windows Storage Resource Management Solution

Precise Software Solutions today announced the launch of WQuinn/StorageCentral(R) SRM 5.0. for Windows(R) enterprise storage performance management.


According to the company, StorageCentral SRM is the first SRM solution to leverage Microsoft’s Active Directory database to centrally locate the appropriate storage management policies for use on any Windows storage device throughout the enterprise.
Precise said it controls storage on devices running all versions of Windows 2000 and Windows NT(R) 4.0 and higher, and on network attached storage (NAS) appliances running Microsoft’s Windows-Powered Server Appliance Kit (SAK) 2.0. StorageCentral SRM technology is embedded in the SAK under a strategic alliance with Microsoft, enabling these appliances to be centrally managed by StorageCentral SRM 5.0.


StorageCentral SRM version 5.0 is available immediately. Introductory pricing for version 5.0 is $1,295 per server for Windows NT, Windows 2000 Advanced Server; $4,995 per server running Windows 2000 Data Center edition.
