Precise Software Solutions this week launched what it says is the industry’s first application performance tuning solution for Hewlett-Packard Company’s HP Surestore XP disk array family.

According to Precise, by capturing, measuring, and correlating performance metrics from vital components of the application infrastructure, including HP Surestore XP disk array storage systems, Precise provides a complete, correlated view of application performance – from the end-user all the way to a specific storage device – and proactively detects and corrects the root causes of performance degradation before the end-user is affected.

“Precise supports HP’s commitment to its customers’ investments in storage management by delivering a solution that provides crucial visibility into the performance of the HP Surestore XP disk array storage system as it relates to the IT infrastructure in support of business application processes,” said Tom Rallens, General Manager, HP Consolidated Solutions. “HP meets its customers’ business needs to manage unpredictable storage demands through technical innovation, truly heterogeneous solutions and stress-free storage services.”

An evaluation copy of the Precise application performance tuning suite on a CD-ROM will be included with shipments of HP Performance Advisor XP software.
