Prisa Demos SAN Monitoring Software at Networld + Interop

Prisa Networks, an OEM supplier of Storage and System Area Network (SANs) management software, this week announced it will preview the latest releases of their software at Networld + Interop.

“Networld + Interop provides a unique opportunity to showcase our VisualSAN suite of products,” stated Rael Morris, vice president of marketing for Prisa. “We have taken great strides to increase the performance and overall appeal of our software suite for OEMs and xSPs. The upgrades of our award-winning software takes the SAN management arena a step further and raises the bar as to what the industry should expect to see from SAN management vendors at this show.”

According to Prisa, it will demonstrate functionality not shown before with their leading VisualSAN product suite. The VisualSAN software is designed around a three-tier architecture that is actively and intelligently monitoring the health of the SAN, and is capable of scaling up to extremely large SAN environments. VisualSAN incorporates a persistent database that is used for historical analysis and auditing. The software provides availability management through active and intelligent status monitoring, correlators, and fault isolation.

In addition to this new functionality in VisualSAN NM and VisualSAN PM, all software modules are based on a very extensible architecture and are supplied with an updated and fully documented API. The API, called SANDAPI, can “SAN-enable” other applications such as back-up, virtualization, or data replication. The SANDAPI provides effective tools to integrate with OEM software or appliances, giving OEMs full access into VisualSAN’s rich feature set and all low-level functionality.
