Procom Technology Enhances NetFORCE 3000 Product Line

Procom Technology Inc. announced that it has nearly tripled the capacity of its advanced NetFORCE 3000 series of networked storage filers while reducing the cost per megabyte.

Procom said it is offering the industry’s highest density networked storage solution — with more than 140% increase in capacity in the same 10U (17.5 inch) vertical footprint.

Utilizing new high performance Seagate Barracuda 180 GB drives, the NetFORCE 3200C can now be configured from 540 GBs up to 17 TBs. A fully configured unit with 17 TB of capacity costs approximately 2.8 cents per MB. Designed for the most demanding mission critical applications, the 3200C’s active-active server clustered architecture eliminates all single points of failure. The company said it is ideally suited for general purpose applications such as storage consolidation or storage intensive rich media applications such as CAD/CAM, Imaging and Video.

“The new drive technology not only extends Procom’s lead in scalability, density and value, but it also allows us to typically reduce power requirements by over half, compared to the previous generation of hard drives,” explained Parsa Rohani, Procom’s vice president of Marketing. “These new additions are just the latest in a series of innovative features designed into the NetFORCE line to give users maximum reliability, scalability, and accessibility to their information.”
